During exercise, athletes can be at risk from Hyponatremia, also known as water intoxication, which is generally the result of drinking excessive amounts of plain water with no electrolytes during endurance events. This causes a low concentration of sodium in the blood. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine (April, 2005) found that 13 percent of Boston Marathon runners developed Hyponatremia from drinking too much plain water.

Women's Running Awards“I found this easy to drink while running (there was no adverse effects on my stomach). The size of the tablet is good, as it can be wrapped and carried, then popped into a water bottle when required. Every flavor tastes good and it kept me hydrated.”

“On the short ride I felt a power increase rather than a drop off. On the long ride it feels as though you are positively hydrating rather than just drinking to prevent dehydration as sometimes feels the case with water.”
Women’s Cycling, Issue 3

“Containing the electrolytes needed to keep you well hydrated these drinks are tasty and effective. 4/5″
Rugby World September 2010

“Easy to use – fill the bottle, drop the tablet, close the lid. Don’t shake it in the lift like I did if your lid’s not on properly. After two Fartlek sessions on the treadmill and 20 minutes of weights during which I used the drink, I still felt full of energy and ready for another session in the morning.”

Dosage & Usage

Zero is great for hydration before, during and after exercise and in hot weather. The tabs are designed to break in half to give you control over your drink concentration. Zero can be mixed to your preferred strength, but we recommend one to two tablets in 750ml water.
